This
week brought a couple great trips to two very awesome boutiques in my
area, The Paper Doll and Jade. Both are located in downtown Rockford, MI
and offer an eclectic selection of high end and affordable clothing.
The Paper Doll is situated on the Rogue River in Rockford in a gorgeous
stone and brick building, the atmosphere in this boutique is friendly,
the staff are knowledgeable and always
around to help but their not overwhelming. The store can be a bit
intimidating as it's quite large and offers an array of different styles
and price ranges, but if you have time to look around at everything I
can all but guarantee that you will find some treasures. This is the
kind of boutique that attracts ladies who want to make a bold statement
with their outfits, and I promise this boutique delivers. While
I do enjoy some standard everyday pieces of clothing that I believe
every woman should have, I also like to find pieces that other people
will not have, I like being able to make a statement and have my own
individual style. Jade is the second boutique I visited this week and
it's just around the corner from The Paper Doll. Jade is a smaller but
more high end boutique also situated on the Rogue River. The building is
older but full of charm and that charm carries in to the inside of
Jade. The atmosphere in Jade feels more high end then at The Paper Doll,
it carries expensive brands and the choices are a bit more limited.
Jade is my first choice when looking for great shoes and great jeans.
It's also a great place to look for one of a kind accessories and
purses. I will caution that a simple trip to this boutique could cost
you upwards of $100 and
while you might not get a lot for your money, you will be getting
quality clothing, great service, and one of a kind pieces. I have put
links to both boutiques below. If you are ever in Rockford you won't be
disappointed if you stop in to The Paper Doll or Jade.

As a first time blogger I had a terrible time trying to decide what to write about, then it hit me I need to write about the one thing I love the most, shopping! This may sound bad to some people but shopping is one thing that always relaxes me and puts me in my zen place. Over the years I have come to dislike mall shopping and now I primarily shop at small boutiques, mostly in the Grand Rapids area, but I have been to many outside the area as well and I am almost never disappointed. At first it was just shopping for clothes for myself then it became a shopping trip for clothes, anything vintage looking or one of a kind for my house and gifts for all the lovely ladies in my life. Now I seek out boutiques and make it a point to go check them out. I hope this blog will inspire all the shopaholics out there to venture outside the day to day stores in the mall and really search for the little gems that are all around us.
